The Sacred Heart of Jesus is a special devotion in honor of the physical heart of Jesus. His Heart shows us the love He shares with God the Father and the Holy Spirit for us. In 1673, a nun named St. Margaret Mary Alacoque began having visions of Jesus in France. He asked her to spread devotion to His Sacred Heart, which symbolises His deep love for humanity. The Sacred Heart of Jesus is usually portrayed as a heart with flames, representing the burning, undying love that Jesus has for us. It is surrounded by a crown of thorns and has a wound. These symbolise the great sacrifice of Jesus for us on the Cross. How can you show your love for Jesus as much as He loves us?
